Blue tick verification Process

Verifying your Meta (Facebook) Business Manager account is a key step to unlocking advanced features like the WhatsApp Business API, higher ad spend limits etc. While the process is free, it requires precise documentation to avoid rejection.

Below is the updated 2026 guide to getting your business verified.

1. Pre-Verification Checklist

Before you hit the button, ensure your Business Manager is "healthy":

  • Admin Access: You must be a full administrator of the Business Portfolio.

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Ensure 2FA is enabled for all admins in the Security Center.

  • Website: Your business must have a live, functional website that displays your Legal Business Name (usually in the footer).

  • Business Email: Use a domain-based email (e.g., name@yourcompany.com). Generic emails like Gmail or Outlook often trigger manual reviews or rejections.

2. Required Documents

You will need digital copies (PDF or high-res JPG) of the following:

  • Proof of Legal Name: Certificate of Incorporation, Tax/VAT Registration, or a Business License.

  • Proof of Address: A utility bill (electricity/phone), bank statement, or government document showing the exact business name and address you entered in Meta.

3. Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Access the Security Center

  1. Go to Meta Business Settings.

  2. Select your Business Account.

  3. On the left-hand menu, scroll down and click Security Center.

Step 2: Start Verification

  • Click the Start Verification button.

  • Note: If this button is greyed out, you may need to "trigger" it by creating a Meta App in the Meta for Developers portal or by starting a WhatsApp API setup.

Step 3: Enter Business Details

Enter your legal business name, address, and phone number.

Critical Tip: This information must match your legal documents character-for-character. If your document says "ABC Services Ltd.", do not type "ABC Services Limited."

Step 4: Select Your Business

Meta will show a list of existing businesses. If yours appears with the correct details, select it. If not, select "None of these match" to upload your own documents.

Step 5: Upload Documents

  • Upload your Proof of Legal Name (e.g., Incorporation Certificate).

  • Upload your Proof of Address (e.g., Utility Bill).

Step 6: Choose a Contact Method

Choose how you want to receive your verification code:

  • Business Email: (Recommended) The fastest way if your domain is already verified.

  • Phone/SMS: Only available in certain regions.

  • Domain Verification: If you’ve already verified your website domain in "Brand Safety," you may be able to skip the code step.

Step 7: Enter Code & Submit

Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email or phone and submit.

4. What Happens Next?

  • Review Time: Usually takes 5–7 business days, though it can take up to a week if manual review is needed.

  • Status Check: You can monitor the progress back in the Security Center or Business Info section.

  • Rejection: If rejected, Meta usually provides a reason (e.g., "Address mismatch"). You typically get 3 attempts to correct the info before the feature is temporarily locked.
